Extremely rare cabinet photo of the first St. Croix River Lighthouse in Maine that was built in 1857 and demolished in 1901 and replaced by a similar structure in that same year. The second lighthouse at this site was destroyed by a fire by trespassers in 1976 and it was never rebuilt. It is believed that this photo was taken around 1885. This is truly a rare photo of a lost lighthouse. Approximately 7” W x 5 ¼”H. As an antique item it is being sold is with no return.
