Original copy written by Arnold Burgess Johnson, Chief Clerk of the United States Light-House Board, printed in Washington DC in 1890 by the Government Printing Office. 133 pages with four large fold-out plates with magnificent sketches and drawings, as well as a number of black and white photos. At some point in time this book was rebound with a new cover, but the pages in this book are all original from 1890. Although there are modern reprints of this book, all the pages in this book are 100% original from 1890. This is the real thing. Pages show signs of yellowing from its age, but overall, the pages and images are in excellent condition. This book is loaded with historical information. Now almost 130 years old, The Modern Light-House Service 1890 would make a magnificent addition to any lighthouse collection.
