Description

A rare full page story from the Courier-Gazette newspaper in Rockland, Maine, dated September 10, 1972, is about the First District Coast Guard Museum in Rockland, Maine that was started by CWO Kenneth Black. This exhibit at the Rockland Coast Station, evolved into the Shore Village Museum, which then evolved into the Maine Lighthouse Museum in Rockland, Maine, which has the largest collection of lenses and lighthouse artifacts under one roof in the United States. The other page is a full page story about the lighthouses of Maine from the era. This is extremely rare and both pages would look great framed or they would enhance any lighthouse or museum collection.
