Description

Rare real photo post card of the Stage Harbor Lighthouse near Chatham, Massachusetts showing the lighthouse before the lantern was removed with a good clear inset photo of lighthouse keeper Alfred E. Howard who was the keeper there from 1906 to 1916. After the lighthouse was automated in 1933 it was replaced by a skeletal looking tower and the lantern was removed from the tower. The light station was then sold to a private owner and is still in the same family’s ownership.

The card was mailed in 1913 to a Miss Emily Baker in Lynn, Massachusetts.

This is a rare and hard to find card and would make an excellent addition to any lighthouse, Cape Cod or maritime collection. Considering that the card was mailed over 100 years ago, this card is in very good condition. You may never come across another one again. As an antique it is sold as is with no return.
