Hard cover bound collection, Vol. LIV, New Series, Vol. XXXII published by The Century Co. of New York. 960 pages. Loaded with historic stories and images. Of special interest is the twelve page story, “Heroism in the Lighthouse Service, a Description of Life on Matinicus Rock,” with pictures by W. Taber and covers Grant family and Abby Burgess (Abbie Burgess). This was a former library copy. The spine is coming loose and was wrapped in heavy brown paper to protect it, which was a common practice done by libraries at the time, but this copy is otherwise in good condition with only one page that we noticed that was ripped.
