Hard cover 1932 eighth edition of the United States Coast Pilot ALASKA Dixon Entrance to Yakutat Bay, 492 pages published by Dept of Commerce and printed by the U.S. Government Printing Office. The first edition of the Coast Pilot of Alaska from Southern Boundary to Cooks Inlet was prepared by George Davidson and published in 1869. This eighth edition of 1932 was prepared by Lt. William D. The introduction states, “Great courtesy was shown by the United States Engineers, Steamboat Inspection Service, Lighthouse Service, Bureau of Fisheries, Forestry Service, masters of vessels navigating in Alaskan waters, and local authorities in furnishing information for use in this publication.” It also includes a brief description of the small communities in the area, which is a treasure trove look-back in time.
